MDVR Systems

A mobile digital video recorder that connects several cameras around a bus or truck, covering the road, cabin, doors, sides and rear, with GPS-linked recording and remote access.

What it does

  • Four or more camera channels depending on model
  • Road, cabin, door, side and rear views
  • Hard drive or memory card storage
  • GPS-linked recording and playback
  • Live view and clip download over 4G
  • Alarm inputs for doors and panic buttons

Why it matters

  • Blind spots covered on large vehicles
  • One recorder for every camera
  • Evidence for passenger and loading incidents
  • Remote checks without visiting the vehicle

How it works

Cameras are wired to the MDVR, which records all channels with time and location. On 4G models, supervisors can view live video and download clips through the platform.

Good to know

Channel count, storage size and network features differ between models, so the MDVR is chosen to match the number of cameras and the recording period you need.

Common question

What is the difference from a dashcam? A dashcam covers one or two views; an MDVR records several cameras across a large vehicle in one system.
