Student Attendance (RFID)

Students tap an RFID card when they board and leave the bus, so the school knows who is on board, where they got on and off, and parents can be notified.

What it does

  • RFID card reader on the bus
  • Boarding and drop-off time and place
  • Live list of students on board
  • Alerts for students on the wrong bus or stop
  • Parent notifications on boarding
  • Daily attendance reports

Why it matters

  • Certainty about who is on each bus
  • Faster response if a child is missing
  • Automatic attendance records
  • More trust from parents

How it works

A reader near the door records each card tap with the bus's GPS time and position. The platform matches the card to the student and their assigned route.

Good to know

Attendance depends on students tapping their cards every time, so the routine is usually supported by the bus supervisor.

Common question

What if a student forgets the card? The supervisor can mark attendance manually, and the record shows it was entered by hand.
