Cabin Camera

Cameras inside the bus record the cabin and doors, giving the school a reliable record of what happened on board, linked to the bus's time and location.

What it does

  • Interior and door camera views
  • Recording linked to GPS time and place
  • Event clips on panic button or alarms
  • Remote viewing on supported systems
  • Access limited to authorised staff
  • Retention periods set by the school

Why it matters

  • Clear facts when incidents are reported
  • Deterrent to misbehaviour on board
  • Support for driver and supervisor
  • Reassurance for parents

How it works

Cabin cameras connect to an on-board recorder that stores video with time and location. Selected clips can be retrieved remotely where the system supports it.

Good to know

Recording children requires clear privacy rules: who can view footage, for what reason and for how long it is kept.

Common question

Can parents watch the cameras? Normally no. Footage is restricted to authorised school staff under the school's privacy policy.
